Raoul Wallenberg Academy for Young Leaders

Raoul Wallenberg Academy for Young Leaders, RWA, is the only concentrated programme in Sweden focusing solely on leadership training for young people.  The RWA curriculum is offered to high-school students.

RWA reaches out to two main target groups. The first group consists of schools, organizations or private enterprises that wish stimulate an interest for leadership issues among youngsters, and contribute to developing their skills to become good leaders. RWA offers tailor-made self-funded programmes focusing both on theoretical and practical leadership training, or the option of sponsoring the Academy's general programmes.

The second target group consists of those young scholars, who have an ambition and passion to lead others. To them, RWA offers a curriculum based on value oriented leadership, with practical techniques and theoretical training taught in the spirit of Raoul Wallenberg's leadership.

As World War II raged in Europe a little over 60 years ago, Swedish-born Raoul Wallenberg went to Budapest in Hungary, and managed to save the lives of thousands of people from Nazi genocide.

With the conviction that one person can make a difference, Raoul Wallenberg's actions have set an example to the world, of what good leadership can be. Driven by compassion and courage, Wallenberg succeeded in making change happen, through others.

All times and situations need good leaders. To develop capacities and stimulate commitment of other people, good leadership needs to adapt to the group and the task ahead. A leader is someone with initiative, with the power to reach out, and the ability to create results.
